Chapter 412

The crowd gasped in shock.

Wasn't Ms. Zara married? Then why was Mr. Goldmann calling her sweetheart? Did that mean...

Evelyn clenched her teeth in his embrace.

Sweetheart? Seriously?

She lowered her voice so only Nathan could hear. "Are you enjoying this little game, Nathan?"

Nathan inhaled the scent of her hair, his dark eyes burning with possessiveness.

No other man would dare lay eyes on his woman.

But revealing her true identity now was too risky—too many eyes in Stoslo were watching him.

Evelyn scoffed. "My husband was cozy with another woman, so why can't I flirt with another woman's husband?"

Oliver and Chloe exchanged exasperated glances.

What is wrong with these two?

Nathan's voice dropped dangerously low. "You’ve gotten bold. Still have energy to tease other men? Did your husband not wear you out enough last night?"

Evelyn traced a slow circle on his chest with her fingertip, smirking. "Then maybe you should share some of yours, Mr. Goldmann."

Nathan seized her wrist, his grip tight. "Just you wait."

He turned to the stunned onlookers, his tone smooth but firm. "Forgive us, but my sweetheart and I have urgent matters to attend to."

Without another word, he dragged her away, leaving the crowd in stunned silence. Ms. Zara—married—openly flirting with another man? How scandalous!

The moment they were inside the car, Nathan pinned her beneath him, capturing her lips in a searing kiss. His gaze was molten when he finally pulled back.

Evelyn gasped for air, her cheeks flushed, eyes glazed. "Nathan, you jerk."

He tightened his grip on her wrists, lifting them above her head. "You started this, Zoe."

It struck him then—she was growing bolder by the day.

Evelyn blinked innocently. "Did I?"

Nathan tilted her chin up, claiming her lips again. His touch burned, and Evelyn realized she might have pushed him too far. She grabbed his hand, breathless. "Can we at least go back to the hotel first?"

Nathan exhaled sharply, regaining some control. He brushed his thumb along her lower lip.

"As you wish."

By the time they reached their suite, Nathan had her pressed against the nearest surface, half their clothes already discarded. His kisses were relentless, his hands possessive.

Evelyn finally understood—she should never provoke a jealous man. He was a live wire, ready to ignite at the slightest spark.

"Zoe," he growled between kisses, marking her skin. "Stay away from Julian."

Evelyn laughed breathlessly. "Are you jealous?"

His eyes darkened with a mix of fury and hunger. "Would you like me to be?"

She wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him closer. "Then tell me—why did you really come to Stoslo?"

Nathan ignored the question, his voice rough. "Focus, Zoe."

Any further protests were lost as he claimed her completely.

Later, exhausted, Evelyn fell asleep in his arms.

Nathan stood by the floor-to-ceiling window, lighting a cigarette. He took a long drag, his expression unreadable.

There were things he couldn’t tell her—not yet.

His phone buzzed. Oliver’s name flashed on the screen.

"Where are you?" Nathan answered.

Oliver spoke quickly, and Nathan’s frown deepened. "Keep Chloe with Zoe at all times. No mistakes. And I need you to handle something else for me."
